Increase on In-Person Credit Card Payments (Square)

QUINCY, ILLINOIS — February 25, 2025. Mad Scientist Technologies is announcing a change to our in-person credit card payments surcharge(for payments made at our physical locations or in-person events), effective March 20, 2025. The new surcharge for in-person credit card payments will increase to 2.6% + $0.15 per transaction, up from the previous rate of 2.6% + $0.10 per transaction. This increase is due to a change in the fees charged by our payment provider, Square.

As part of our policy to pass on fees from payment providers to clients who choose to pay with credit cards, we are adjusting the surcharge.

Despite this increase, Mad Scientist Technologies remains committed to providing convenient and secure payment options for our customers, ensuring they can continue to easily make payments with peace of mind.
